My 2014 Annual Review ...
Jan. 6th, 2015 11:21 pmOkay, so everyone else on my F-list seems to be doing this and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a complete and utter lemming, so here's my fandom review of 2014 as best I can compile it ...
Once again I've played exclusively in the Supernatural sandbox this year, and although my fan fiction has tailed off a little, it's been probably my busiest year in fandom since I discovered that wonderful madhouse five years ago!

wings128, who wants us to be able to have our DVD's, and we've set up a petition to 'hand over' to the WB.

I know you lovely guys and girls are a generous lot and I hope you will be able to help our lovely friend Digitalwave raise some funds towards her husband's latest medical bills via GoFundMe. The last bill was for $1600.00, so any help you can give will be very much appreciated by her and her family. I've set a goal of £750.00, which is around $1200.00. If you live in the UK you know how lucky we are that our health service is 'free' and it is awful to think that in other countries huge bills mount up which just add to the stress and worry.
Digitalwave has not asked me to do this; I offered because she is a lovely person who does a lot to help others and makes all our lives brighter. She tries hard to raise extra cash by selling her collectibles on e-bay but it's not enough right now. As I said to her recently, it seems life is determined to hand her a sweetie from one hand and a slap from the other, as whenever they start to get straight something awful happens and another huge bill arises. Anything you could spare to help her and her family cope with this horrendous medical bill would be greatly appreciated. And if you could share this post with your flisties it would be just wonderful!

A new IT guy started at my work a couple of months ago; a sweet techie type with a touch of the Sheldon Cooper about him.
Sitting in the board room with him last week waiting for a meeting to start we were chatting and the subject got onto TV, and I just happened to mention - guess what - Supernatural.
"Oh, awesome show," says he.
My ears pricked up.
"So, who's your favourite Winchester?" he asked.
"Well, if course I'm a Dean girl,"
"Good choice," he grinned.
I couldn't help a knowing smile; "oh yeah? We got a little bit of a man-crush going on here then?"
"Could have," he smirked.
Then we briefly got onto the subject of the conventions before the boring farts from the payroll software company turned up and spoiled our delightful little exchange.
The following morning, he strolled into my office and asked if I could send him some information about the convention in Birmingham because he's talked to his girlfriend over night and she was really up for it, so I sent him the link to the Rogue website.
He came to see me again this morning; he's booked his tickets to Asylum 13.
Welcome to the dark side, my friend!

Our Jensen has, quite rightly, been winning the E!Online 'Alpha Male' poll since the dawn of time. He stands undefeated and unrivalled in his sheer alphaness, bestriding the inferior men of the celebrity world like a bow-legged colossus.
This year, however, the apocalypse is clearly upon us because ... he's losing! IN THE FIRST ROUND - (there, yes, sorry I had to shout it), to some bloke I've never heard of, from a show I've never seen.
Currently, the margin is 36% - 64% and we've already pushed it up from 18% - 82% as it stood yesterday. The hot money is on some nefarious inter-fandom shenanigans ganging up on our boy!
This can't be allowed to happen. It is an offence against everything that's good and noble and hot as a freakin' supernova in this world.
So, Once more unto the breach, dear friends ... there are two days left; sally forth and do your duty.
Your Jensen needs you!

A Call to Arms ... UK Fans need our help!

As many of you may know, here in the UK, Sky Living have axed Supernatural, leaving UK fans unable to legally watch our show without waiting over a year for the DVD's to be released.
So I have decided to follow in the footsteps of these lovely ladies and send my own plea to UKTV, on the basis that if they get swamped with requests, they might get an idea of the strength of feeling (and more importantly, the size of the influx of viewing figures).
This is what I sent:

If you wanted to add your voice to our crusade, you can contact UKTV here. Let's keep it nice, make them think we're the sort of people they'd like to have around. Either that or make them so desperate, they'll buy Supernatural just to get us to shut the hell up!!!

Unfortunately, however, family can occasionally exasperate and disappoint you, and in that negative respect, this 'Family' is no different there, too.

May. 11th, 2013 07:28 pmI'm having deep and meaningful ponderations as I sit here and reflect on a fun and exhausting day, and the question I find myself asking is this: Is Jensen the most beautiful human being I have ever set eyes on?
I think the answer really has to be an emphatic yes ...
I keep telling myself I am not a silly, hormonal, lovelorn teenager. Nope, I'm a silly, hormonal, lovelorn 45 year old woman., I've got a sneaky feeling that might actually be worse :)
I am ever so slightly, just a teeny weeny little bit excited about this.
As you can see, the boys are really excited about meeting me too ...
