Jared Love Day ... reporting for duty!!

It's sad that we feel the need to do this, but I am more than happy to spread a little love for our adorable moose and his delightful family.

Here are ten reasons why Jared and Gen deserve to be loved ...

1. They are human beings with the same feelings and insecurities as the rest of us.



2. They are exceptionally kind and giving, welcoming us into their lives and their adorable family even though we have no automatic right to be there.



3. Jared speaks (or tweets) from the heart, and has the occasional ‘oops’ moment! :)



4. Gen is gracious enough to happily share her gorgeous husband with all of us.



5. Jared gives so much of himself for the fans.
I’ll never forget how he soldiered on through JIB with a dislocated (and, we later discovered) broken shoulder, even refusing pain meds so that he would be alert for us, and refusing to wear a sling so that he wouldn’t spoil our photos.

(Of course, the reason WHY he broke his shoulder makes us love him all the more!)

As an aside, It says so much about the person that Jared is that the first thing he did when he first woke up from the initial sedative the doctor gave him was to go and reassure Osric that everything was okay, because he knew poor Osric would be devastated by what had happened.



6. Jared is a delightfully lovable goofball who fills a room with sunshine.  He’s clumsy, loud, tactile, and daft as a trumpet.

7. They both love to laugh at themselves.



8. They are both talented actors who have brought a lot of pleasure to a lot of people through their work.



9. They both love animals.




10. They are both gorgeous people on the inside, as well as on the outside.





So, to conclude, here's my message to the people that hate on Jared and Gen.

I can't even begin to understand how your mind works, nor would I ever want to.  Maybe you think you're being funny or clever; well, trust me, you're not.  You're being spiteful and pathetic.

You're not welcome in this fandom; so go and spew your nasty, moronic vitriol somewhere else.

Don’t let the door smack you on the ass on the way out.

HEAR HEAR! Said so well and agreed upon by everyone on our joined f*lists and I can't grasp the concept of treating real life humans like some people do! They don't deserve it, ever and in fact they deserve our upmost respect for the time they give to Fandom, Gen especially because she lets her hubby disappear for months at a time and is so proud of him for the time he spends with us!

Indeed. I try to keep out of the way of the madder corners of fandom, so I don't see much of the hate, but I know it exists and I've seen enough to be shocked and angered by it. I can't even begin to imagine how I'd feel if it was directed at me for no logical reason.

I just don't understand it - as I said to Milly, I try to keep away from the darker corners of fandom, so I don't see much of the hate, but I know it exists and I've seen enough to know how venomous it can be. I can't even begin to imagine how I'd feel if it was directed at me, so God knows how they must feel.

Thank you - glad you enjoyed it, and I think all of us who can describe ourselves as reasonable, well-adjusted human beings can all agree that the hate Jared and Gen receive is vile and undeserved.
The photo of me clinging limpet-like to Jared was at JIB this year - I was really pleased to see him - does it show? That's another reason why I loathe this behaviour toward him because, although I've only met the man a handful of times so I can't profess to know him well, he radiates decency and kindness and is just the sweetest, sunniest person you could ever wish to meet. It just baffles me why he is a target for these morons. :(

This post is totally awesome and so true. Although, I didn't know about Jarad's shoulder. Poor guy. My mom went through the same thing...it isn't fun at all.

Most excellent post, diz. It is unbelievable to me how people can spew hatred towards someone they don't even know. It is appalling behavior and it just sickens me, especially when it is said about two very kind, very genuine, undeserving people.

I don't hear first hand about any of this, so it always surprises me when I hear about it second or third hand. I just don't understand the mindset of such small people like that. It is terribly sad.
