Dizzojay's Dean Dreams

 Yesterday I posted a little random fic on my Fanfiction.net account.  It was nothing special or incredible, but just something I wanted to post because - and I still can't quite believe this myself - it was my 1,000th Supernatural fic posted at FF.net!

I started my fanfic jouney on 31st May 2010, and in the intervening 12 (and a bit) years, I've been on an amazing journey!  A journey of friendships and fun that I coudn't have imagined in my wildest dreams all that time ago.  Over 800 of those posts have been drabbles, and some of the very early fics make me cringe when I re-read them, but even so, I can't help feeling a little bit proud of myself :)

This won't be the end of my fanfic world - although my output has slowed down, but the adventures of my precious Winchester boys will always be part of my life.  Maybe it's time for Soldier Boy to step in as well?

I decided to focus my 1,000th fic on the one character I love as much as Sam and Dean.  She has four wheels and an attitude...

A little double drabble I wrote for the drabble challenge over on Fanfiction.net this weekend.  The challenge word was 'crack'.



Dean has very high standards when it comes to Baby…

“Dean, you can’t wash the car – you’ve broken your wrist.”

“Cracked, Sam, I’ve just cracked it. That hot nurse in ER said so.”

“Well, whatever, broken or cracked, you can’t go washing the car.”

“But she needs it – she’s covered in road dust.”

“Can’t we just take her to the car wash downtown?”

*glares*

“Alright, well, shall I do it?”

“You?”

“Yes Dean.  I am capable of washing a car, you know.”

“Well, okay. But make sure you use the soft chamois on her.”

“Yes.”

“And use a different one for each panel so you don’t transfer the grime.”

“Okay …”

“And use the wax cleaner in a green bottle – she doesn’t like the one in the black bottle.”

“… ooookay.”

“And when you buff her afterwards, use a cotton cloth, so you don’t leave lint on her.”

*nods*

“And use the vinegar-based glass cleaner in the blue bottle on her windows.”

*stares*

“Remember to lift her wipers before you clean her windshield, and only use the soft bristle brush on her alloys so they don’t get scratched.”

“Well, that’s her outside; now when you do her interior …”

“You know what Dean?  You’re right.  It’s only a cracked wrist – how much harm can washing the car do?”

It seems bizarre to travel to Paris, one of the most beautiful cities in the world and not see anything except the inside of the Hilton Hotel, Charles de Gaulle Airport.  But I saw other glorious sights intead, namely Matt Cohen, Richard Speight Junior, Rob Benedict, David Haydn-Jones, Adam Fergus, Felicia Day, Kim Rhodes, Brianna Buckmaster, Ruth Connell, Sebastian Roche and Alex Calvert.

I was meetiing my friend Wendy, who was catching the train from Antwerp to come to the con, and we were sharing a room over the weekend.  Wendy had a VIP pass which meant she was going to be here there and everywhere during the day and in evening activities too, and I had a Demon pass, so I knew  was going to spend the majority of the weekend alone - or as alone as you can be at a con.

On the Friday night, the organisers had somehow got permssion to show the season Finale, so everyone sat in the panel hall together and watched itt.  Even though I'd already watched it that morning, it was great to watch it again in a group, and see the reactions of the other attendees.  After we watched the episode, Matt and Richard hosted a karaoke party which, of course, we rounded off with Eye of the Tiger and Carry On My Wayward Son!

You're never very alone at a con and, true to form, within two hours of sitting down in the panel room on the Saturday morning, I had met two lovely ladies - Mieke from the Netherlands and Mouna from Paris, and we ended up spending a large part of the weekend together.

There was a great line-up of guests, and they were all brilliant fun.  I particularly gravitated towards David Haydn-Jones and Adam Ferguson (otherwise kown as the British Men of Letters) because I luvs them!!!

I dont kow whether to be flattered or concerned by my stalkerish tendencies that they both greeted me as an old friend, and Adam even remembered me by name!!

I had meet and greets with them both, and they both talked about how much they loved doing the conventions and how grateful they were to the fans.  David thought that Mr Ketch was the best character he'd ever played, and both of them hoped their caracters could come back for show's final season!  We all agreed that we hoped they would too.

One of the highlights of the weekend was a surprise appearance by Baby - I've never seen an underground carpark so popular!

Hey gang!
I'm just dropping by to let you know I'm still alive and kicking, and having a great time at Darklight Con in Paris. Unfortunately my tight schedule means that I haven't had the chance to venture out into the city centre, and I fly home tomorrow, but I've had a ball meeting some great guests, and fallen just a little bit more in love (if that were indeed possible) with those gorgeous British Men of Letters.
Plushie Sam and Dean have also been having their own adventure, and have met their own hero ... Our should that be heroine?
