With all the excitement of the upcoming western episode in the air I was inspired to write about Winchesters on horseback ...
So step this way for Sam being clever, Dean being obnoxious, adorable horses, a chupacabra, bucketloads of angst, Bobby being awesome, oh ... and a coconut.
A FOUR LEGGED FRIEND
Rating: T
Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Humour
Word Count: approx 22,500
A Chupacabra hunt deep in the mountains proves to be a challenging time for the boys, not least of all getting there in the first place ...
Disclaimer: Don't own the boys, want, but can't have.
Tears before Bedtime ...
Apr. 4th, 2011 09:12 pmOkay, my husband has just forced me to watch 'Marley and Me' and now I am a shrivelled, snot riddled sobbing wreck. It ain't pretty ...
Which brings me seamlessly to this question ... does anyone else think Dean cries so very prettily?
Here's a couple of little pieces that celebrate the fact ...

SOB STORY

A hunt ends up with the brothers in another difficult situation; one which definitely goes straight to the top of the 'Things That Will Never Be Mentioned Again Under Any Circumstances' List.

Another year older ...
Mar. 31st, 2011 09:50 pmNo matter where I hide, it always sneaks up on me.
Tomorrow, I become another year older; old enough to know better (apparently) but still young enough not to care :)
I can't really say 'another grey hair' because I lost count of those years ago, so I'm just gonna cling pathetically to the fact that I can still qualify as 'early' forties.
Due to a laughably bad bit of time management on my part - so I'm told - I managed to lumber myself with a birthday of April Fools Day and so naturally I saw this as a golden opoportunity for me to relaunch the prank wars. Because it's stupid, and it always escalates, rtight?
PAYBACK'S A BITCH
Rating: K+
Genre: Hurt/Comfort/Humour
Word Count: approx 100 words
WOW - rub. Dean's been naughty. He thinks it's funny, Sam doesn't share his opinion...

Spring has Sprung
Mar. 30th, 2011 09:31 amI love Spring. I love the smell of the cherry blossom, the bright colours of the daffodils after the winter gloom and the birdsong. I love the fact that I ache all over after spending hours in the garden after starting that laborious annual transformation from 'surface of the moon' to 'somewhere nice and flowery to have barbecues in'.
Most of all I love Spring because it means Summer is on the way, bringing long hot days, bumblebees, the cricket season, the afore mentioned barbecues and chilled wine on the patio (well, in a glass first, obviously ...)
Another effect of summer is that people wear less clothes. Sometimes this is a good thing. Often it most definitely is NOT.
Herewith the opportunity to make your own minds up; enter Dean, stage left ...

The Joys of Technology
Mar. 23rd, 2011 10:16 pmIt's tragic really, but with fanfic.net on the fritz since Saturday, I'm practically chewing the wallpaper off the walls with frustration not being able to post or read new fic. I really need to get out more!
Drabble challenge on hiatus this Sunday with no new fics able to be posted, but I've had these sitting on my hard drive waiting to see the light of day, so congratulations LJ ... you get first look!

Number Fifty - a challenge to myself
Mar. 22nd, 2011 06:03 pmI wanted to challenge myself.
Well, I had nothing better to do ... so - do I run a marathon? do I learn a foreign language? do I travel the world on the back of a donkey?
I know - I'll write a really dark and angsty torture-fic. Exactly what any well adjusted, mentally stable individual would do.
So herewith ...
NUMBER FIFTY
Someone - or something - is scaring people to death in New York; Bobby's on the case, but opinion is divided on whether or not he needs the Winchesters' help. But those boys; they just won't take no for an answer …
I have based this fic very loosely around one of London's most famous ghost stories; that of the fatally hideous spirit of number fifty, Berkeley Square. I have used the most basic details of the story, and embellished, warped and fiddled with them for my own nefarious purposes!
Disclaimer: I don't own anything supernatural, although my passport photo is a bit creepy …
Rating: T
Genre: H/C Angst (little bits of humour)
Word Count: 28,500
( Number Fifty - Chapters 1 - 5 of 15 )
Okay, so when the drabble challenge word of 'skunk' was announced, and then my first and immediate thought drifted to Dean's armpit, I just knew in that moment that my poor twisted, addled and warped mind was beyond help!

Nightmare Scenario
Mar. 18th, 2011 09:02 pmAn oft-used phrase which could apply to any number of instances from the worst kind of global catastrophe to my attempt to cook lasagne yesterday evening (heck, the smell of smoke does linger doesn't it?)
In Dean's case, it could describe, say, being trapped in a small cramped aircraft with no pilot hurtling to oblivion in the middle of the Mohave Desert ...

A mystrious disaster en-route to a far flung hunt tests Dean to the very edge of his physical and psychological limits; but is this all down to fate? Winchester luck? Or are there darker forces at work? Later on in the story there will be slight, non-specific spoilers for various season 5 goings-on.

Watching the world go by ...
Mar. 13th, 2011 08:01 am...is pretty much all I've been doing over the last few days, given that Winter has decided that Laryngitis and a streaming headcold aren't enough entertainment, so as the cherry on the cake, it's saddled me with a chest infection!
Personally, I think this is payback for all the horrible things I do to Dean, so herewith I make a solemn undertaking that never again will I hurt, distress, or otherwise damage our lovely boy.
.
.
.
... just kidding :D
But given that I've been up since six o'clock this Sunday morning, (which, as any sensible individual knows, is completely immoral and perverse,) on the basis that I should let my poor husband try to salvage some sleep out of the night without listening to me doing my best to fire my lungs across the room, I give you ... Dean, and he's having a spot of insomnia!

It's the worst storm for a generation; what happens when a restless Winchester goes sleepwalking out in it?
Well it's a Friday ... and that means it's Supernatural night, and that in turn got me thinking about this season's episodes; particularly episode 4, Weekend at Bobby's.
I was so pathetically excited when the boys turned up on my side of the Pond, in Scotland, I fell to thinking that they must have done a bit of sightseeing if they came all that way.
Now; If you are interested in the supernatural and mysterious and you are sightseeing in Scotland, there's really only one place you have to go.
Therefore, I give you ...
