100 Days of Happiness - Day 6

The two big maps I have on my office wall have been with me for many years, and they make me happy because they are a reminder of all the fabulous opportunities for travelling  I've been lucky enough to enjoy throughout my life. I stick a pin in every new destination I visit so the memories of that place stay with me forever!

Yes, it was NYC - I went there for my birthday in 2001 which, incidentally, was the last time I went to the States!

I'd love to visit New England some time, especially to see the Autumn colours. It sounds like it has an identity all of its own.

Definitely, when Bazza and I get back from a trip, we fight over who's going to stick the pin in!

I've been very fortunate throughout my life to have good opportunities to travel through my life, and to have good friends and family down in Australia and New Zealand which makes that part of the world far more accessible!

I'm jealous of all the places you have visited. That's very cool for you. One day, I keep telling myself, and I'll go and visit some other places, but sadly, I'm not sure that will ever happen. Oh well.

I hope you get the opportunity. I'm totally aware of how fortunate I've been to have the opportunity to do this travelling, and like I said to Tifaching, having family and friends in Australia and New Zealand makes those parts of the world far more accessible!

Definitely having friends and family in those countries is fortunate. Having a place to stay, and not having to fork over money for hotel costs, and much of the food costs. Making your trip expenses exponentially less than for others.

Absolutely. I would have struggled to get to either of those places without that connection. Maybe once - but certainly not the three times I have been able to do it so far!
