Not that I love my job any less than normal, but April is always a fraught month in my line of work.

Mainly due to tax year end, but when your organisation raises 700 peoples' salaries in the same month, the government requires you to uplift all their pension contributions, your HR Director is REALLY keen for you to get the draft Reward Strategy draft for the whole organisation ready for the board meeting in the first week of May and then Easter gives you two less working days to do it all in, Dean ably demonstrates my attitude towards some of my less understandding managers this week!

I would imagine you expression would be less wry smile and more ARGH than Dean's though! Poor you!

Yes, my general demeanour has been slightly more demented than Dean's, but I'm glad to day we're finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel now!

"Dean ably demonstrates my attitude towards some of my less understandding managers this week!" I'm not surprised! I feel for you, I used to hate April for similar reasons! But I think being expected to get the Reward Strategy draft ready by the first week of May on top of the April workload is just too much and very unfair. And Dean would say...

I'm not cross with my boss about the reward strategy, it needs to be done, but it's just unfortunate timing, and she's very understanding. She's happy to just have a one-page summary for the board meeting thankfully. I'm more cross with the various Managers around the business who seem to need asking fifty thousand times before they'll give me straight answer, and seem to be fatally allergic to making my life easier!
