100 Days of Happiness - Day 41

As I was walking down my garden path this evening, I was struck by how lovely my flowering cherry tree looks now it's in full leaf.

This tree was a first anniversary present to us from my grandparents, and when we first got it, it was a spindly little twig, small enough to travel home in the back of a hatchback car.  Now, almost nineteen years later, it's about fifteen feet tall with a trunk thicker than my arm.

This is how it looked this evening - I only wish I'd had the presence of mind to get a picture while it was in blossom!

They are beautiful, aren't they. My tree was covered in pretty white blossoms a couple of weeks ago!

There's something magical about this time of year, watching everything bursting into life. And of course the blossom on the trees so beautiful and the blue bells, I love blue bells. So yes a very special time of year for both of us.
