100 Days of Happiness - Day 25

As my birthday fell during the week and I had to go to work, how rude, my birthday treat was saved for today.

We headed off to the beautiful and very old village of Avebury which is unique in that it sits in the middle of a prehistoric stone circle.  It's one of my favourite places in the world; it's steeped in mystery and even better, it has the most gorgeous pub that serves food to die for!

So after a very delicious lunch, we spent a nice afternoon peacefully wandering around the circle and soaking up a little of the atmosphere.

Wow, what a beautiful place, I can feel the good energy coming off my screen :D Love places like this, as I'm a pagan they hold a certain pull for me :)

I adore these sorts of places. If I was going to categorise myself, I would call myself a humanist, but I have a lot of empathy for pagan beliefs, that's why I think these places have such a hold on me too.
That also comes across in my pictures - a lot of them have a vaguely pagan influence with subjects such as moongazing hares, white stags, wolves, and unicorns.

I've been a practicing pagan for years now and I love my way of life, gives me such a sense of freedom, and I love hearing about other people's ideas and beliefs too, because that's what makes the world go round.

I may have to visit there ya know, does look beautiful :)
