dizzojay Day 11 - Who is your favorite sidekick? (bad and/or good)
There have been so many wonderful sidekicks across the years. Robin, Samwise, Chewbacca, Castiel (is he a sidekick? I think he is, sort of) and Ron Weasley to name but a few.
But I'm running with a sidekick who I've followed across the centuries and loved as much at the end as I did at the beginning...
Baldrick.
Blackadder's loyal sidekick has followed his scheming master throughout the medieval period, the Elizabethan age, the Georgian period, and the first world war. Medieval Baldrick was an ex-dung shoveller. This was a step up from previous jobs which included miking pigs and mucking out the town lepers.
Medieval Baldrick was much cleverer and more scheming than his later generations, and was responsible for giving Edmund his alter-ego name of Black Adder. For me Medieval Baldrick was the best of a brilliant bunch!
