Summergen 2020 Fic
Sep. 11th, 2020 07:54 pmSo, just like something else very dear to us, Summergen has wrapped for another year. As always, the standard of works was exceptional, and I aspire to do it justice every year!
And so, with that said, here is my fic for this year's challenge. Called 'Karaoke King', it was written for DLWinchester, and the original prompt was: Tell me the story behind the Demon!DeanCrowley photo. (You know the one). Make it funny and I'll love you forever.
So just in case there is one amongst you who doesn't know 'the' photo, here it is!!

Sep. 1st, 2020 09:36 pmWith Summergen 2020 reveals almost upon us, I'm getting myself in the mood by reposting my story from last year.
I always enjoy Summergen, it seems to be a challenge that produces a lot of very high quality work, and certainly brings out the best in a lot of writers, myself included it seems. My story from last year came from a great prompt and ended up being my favourite of all the Summergen entries I've written. It may well be one of my favourite of my own stories full stop!

Sep. 14th, 2019 08:02 pmSo, once again this year I had the privilege of taking part in the Summergen Fic Exchange, and I was gifted with the most fabulous prompt courtesy of broken_cinders:
'A pagan god(dess) + Dean's unfortunate penchant for snark + Winchester luck = one very annoyed little brother.'
And so, this is what happened...
Warnings for suggestive themes, frequent mentions of sex and sexual situations in a comedy context (nothing graphic), few F-bombs floating around and Sam and Castiel as you've NEVER seen them before!!!

Now Dean's just glad they're both alive, but there's one thing on Sam's list he would like to make sure gets crossed off, what is it he wants to help Sam with? May be serious or humorous or both.

Summary (based on the Original Prompt): Set during 'Regarding Dean'. When Sam loses Dean he doesn't quickly find him trying to get into the wrong apartment. Outsider POV story of the person who finds the incredibly handsome, but also confused and increasingly distressed man wandering around.
Warnings: Set during 'Regarding Dean' ep11, s12. Therefore whole fic is theoretically a spoiler for that episode.

it's a great casefic with elements of drama and peril (get yourself a stiff drink before you read if you're claustrophobic) a little bit of poorly Dean and plenty of scrumptious hurty comfort, all the elements that I love in a story.

This is not a John Winchester hate-fest by any means and I have tried to bring some balance by providing some defence for his actions, but ultimately the reason why someone wants to turn a shotgun onto you are never going to be because they think you're awesome!

Jun. 18th, 2014 10:02 pmWell, this is my first Summergen, and I'm really excited to see what you can come up with for me, I have no doubt I will love whatever you produce - even after all these years, I never fail to be thrilled when someone writes a story for me. I hope you found something to prod your muse among my prompts but just to help you along, in the manner of many of my lovely cohorts, here's a quick idea of what I like best.
If you've ventured anywhere near my journal, you will see I'm a Dean girl through and through. This doesn't mean that I don't love Sam, because I do; but I enjoy stories the most when they're Dean-centric. I love hurt!Dean and caring!Sam, and I love humour; if you can make me laugh, you will have my undying gratitude. Of course, I laugh the hardest when Dean is the butt of the joke!
I like most characters from our show but, aside from the brothers of course, my softest spots are reserved for Bobby, Castiel, Crowley, Benny, Death, Trickster and Kevin.
The only character I'm really not particularly fond of is John. I don't hate him, but I find it very hard to like him and so would prefer if he doesn't feature in the story.
I like my boys all grown up and handsome, so although I have no aversion to Wee!Chesters or Teen!Chesters, I much prefer canon-age boys that I can drool over without guilt.
I'm happy with any POV, and I'm a sucker for happy endings. Having said that, I'm not averse to a little dollop of angst along the way!
So, I hope that gives your muse a little fodder to chew on, and I just can't wait to read whatever little gem you come up with.
