On the Monday of our stay in Rome, we would normally be getting ready or Jason Manns' concert in the evening. However, due to the cancellations, and Jensen's need to be on his way home on Monday, the concert was canelled, so this left us witth a whole day to spend in beautiful Roma. We included
tifaching,
heavenli24,
amberdreams,
dean_hugs_sammy,
edina_clouds128, and
stellamira
We decided to just make the most of our day, and as well as taking in the best sights, we were also going to have a bit of a homage to our favourite gelataria.
We started the day around midday, and headed straight for the Pantheon. Firstly because it's an amazing place...

... and secondly because right next to it is the most incredible Gelataria which sells 150 varieties!

So, of course, we stopped for a healthy lunch!

After lunch, we found ourselves wandering along to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, and on to a nice dinner (with Gelato to follow, of course).
Then Sunset at the Coliseum:

(I do feel sorry for this poor random man who was probably just sitting having a quiet moment of reflection at one of the world's great historical monuments before we all descended...)

The Coliseum's seen some rough stuff in its time, but us lot must have given it a bit of a culture shock!
We eventually stumbled back to our respective hotels late at night, hot, exhausted and very very happy!
A great day with great friends in a great place!
It's been far too long!!
