Snowflake Challenge - Day 12

It appears that the cross-posting function between Dreamwidth and Livejournal isn't working at the moment, so just catching up, here is my day 12 entry:
Challenge #12
In your own space, tell us who you would recast in a film, tv series or webseries, or maybe someone voicing a cartoon or videogame. Or who would you cast to play a character in a book, comic or maybe even your own fiction!
In 2016 I went to Jus in Bello convention and was lucky enough not just to have a meet and greet with Jensen Ackles, but to actually ask him a question.
The question I asked was in respect of it being the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, and had he ever considered doing Shakespeare? If so, was there a a particular play or character that really inspired him?
Despite the fact that I then completely lost the power of articulate speech, and just nodded mutely and stupidly as he gave his very informative, well-thought-out answer, which amounted to ‘no, although he liked Shakespeare, he felt it had all been done, and done very well, so there was nothing for him to add or create’, I did manage to finish our brief exchange by thanking him and saying (or more like blabbering incoherently) that if he ever changed his mind, I thought he’d make a brilliant Henry the Fifth.
He grinned and said, “Yeah? I could do that!”
I stand by what I said…
Jensen in armour, giving the battlefield soliloquy…
"…We few we, happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother: be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And Gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whilst any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispians day."
THUD!

Date: 2022-02-03 03:43 pm (UTC)Although, instead of armor, for some reason I'm picturing Jensen dressed as Dean, giving that same speech you just quoted to our beloved "band of brothers" and at the end, just before they charge off to do what they do best, going, "See, Sammy? I know stuff too! That was Shakespeare, in case you didn't know." He'd flash his trademark smile/grin & Jared as Sammy would smile back & say, "I know, Dean." They'd exchange looks & get down to the business of Hunting! :D
