Happy Post: Ah, Paris!

I mentioned a few days ago that I had a cuple of days in Paris last weekend. This should have been a convention, but that was postponed at fairly short notice as the organiser was having difficulty getting some of the guests over from the USA, and will now take place in March 2022. However, as the hotel was already booked and the Eurostar was already booked, I and my friend Wendy (JIB roomie) decied to go anyway and just spend the weekend sightseeing.
I havent been sightseeing to Paris for probably 20 years or more, and after the restrictions of lockown preventing any travel for near enough two years, it was fabulous beyond belief to just be in another country at last. The weather was a bit naff, but we didnt care!
Over the couse of three days, my Fitbit showed that I walked 25.5 miles, so we definitely made the most of our time, and we visited loads of famous Parisien landmarks including the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, Monmartre, Notre Dame, Place de la Concorde, Champs Elysees, Centre Pompidou, Pantheon and Moulin Rouge.
So, of course - here are a few mugshots
Doing the touristy bit at Sacre Coeur

Fountain at Place de la Concorde

That's a big old Tower. They weren't allowing people to go right to the top as it was too windy!

Arc de Triomphe - the big red JCB kinda ruins the effect!

Standing on the Champs Elysees - spot the Arc de Triomphe

Happy times!

I didn't even know Paris HAD a Pantheon - but there it is!

On a windswept Pont Alexander III

A wet and windy Paris skyline from the top level of the Centre Pompidou

Notre Dame - or part of it, at least. LOTS of scaffolding!

Moulin Rouge! And no, we didn't do a can can.

At Gare du Nord, heading our separate ways home

And finally, our small, but cosy, hotel room had a little roof terrace, and I nearly had a heart attack when I looked out and saw this bloody thing standing there...
Talk about creepy!

I sent this picture to Mr D and he sent back a single text message... 'DON'T BLINK'.
Yeah thanks very much, you sod. Now I'm afraid to go to sleep!
