Happy Post: Anniversary dinner

dizzojayMr D and I went out for a day yesterday to one of my favourite places in the UK, probably in the whole world, Avebury.
Avebury is a ittle village about 2 hours drive from where we live. It's very small and very old, and very unique in that it sits within a neolithic stone circle which is about 4,000 - 5,000 years old. Honestly, if you aren't moved by the spirituality of this place, then I swear you're dead from the neck up!
Another appeal of Avebury is that it has the most beautiful old traditional pub which serves amazing food!
We try to visit Avebury at least once a year but of course the last couple of years has made that difficult. Our last visit to Avebury was for my 50th birthday dinner in April 2018, so it was so lovely to be back there, even though the weather didn't read the script, and it was pouring with rain most of the day!
Our main reason was visiting was to celebrate our anniversary, and we had a lovely day, despite British summer time doing its absolute worst!

By the time we sat own for dinner we were looking a bit wet and bedraggled; it didn't spoil the day at all though!
