Happy post: Well, I got there in the end!

The company I work for is very big on personal development, and so we're always encouraged to take up training and learning opportunities whenever they arise.
My job role involves managing and co-ordinating our benefits provision, and we have a lot of benefits that focus on wellbeing, with mental health wellbeing being as prominent as physical wellbeing.
I've always thought it would be nice to be a bit more informed about mental health matters so that when I'm talking to people about our benefits, I can understand the issues better, and therefore know how best to address them in the context of our benefits.
I mentioned this to my Manager in a recent one-to-one chat, and she gave me full rein to talk to our academy and see what type of training suited me best, and I decided to do a level 2 apprenticeship. That was in February, and last week I got the confirmation that I'd passed! I want to use this as a stepping stone to qualifying as a mental health first aider for the office, but that can wait until next year, I don't want to overdo it. That could be bad for my mental health!!!

Date: 2021-07-05 08:24 pm (UTC)I'm interested in finding out more about MH, I guess so that I can relate more to people who live with those issues. It's not something I have a lot of personal experience of.
