If everything goes according to plan, then two of these absolute little poppets will be joining our household in about six weeks time.

They're three weeks old Dutch x Mini Rex bunnies who lost their Mum at 1 week old, so they were shipped off to an animal sanctuary and have been being hand-reared, so they'll be very tame and humanised.  Dutch bunnies generally have lovely personalities anyway.

They'll be released to us in about six weeks when they're fully weaned, vaccinated, and any boys have had their little knackers chopped off.  The girls are being 'done' too.

We're hoping for a boy and a girl, and the sanctuary owner thinks she can accommodate this, but bunnies are notoriously difficult to sex before their little balls have dropped, so she's going to confirm back in a couple of weeks.

Aren't they just darling!!

If you aren't breeding, is there any advantage to getting one of each? Less likely to fight? They are total cuties, and sound absolutely perfect!

Considering they're very gregarious animals, rabbits are very picky about who they get along with. One male and one female is the combination that is most likely to coexist happily — as long as they're both neutered, otherwise you end up with fifty rabbits after a couple of years!!

That's so cute! I haven't made my mind up about the boy bunny yet, and Juno is a cut name. But 'Nutmeg' keeps popping into my mind as well!

They are so precious!!! My little old man bunny rabbit is about 12 years old now. Bunnies make such great pets.

Yes, he’s still going strong too! Only problem is his teeth are too long and I’m not sure what to do about it besides feeding him lots of greens to try to grind them down.
