Snowflake Challenge - Day 9

Day 9 -  In your own space, brag about yourself. Tell us what things you've done that you're proud of; the things that make you the wonderful person you are. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I think most of us find these sorts of challenges difficult - I know I do!

On the whole I believe I manage to be a fairly decent person; I’m moderately intelligent and I’m creative, but I don’t think I’m exceptional in any of those regards. 

 

But okay, this is me banging the Dizzo Drum:

 

I like that I’m an empathetic person.  I genuinely care when people are hurting, particularly those people I know and care about.

I think I’m a loyal person – being an only child, my friends – my ‘found family’ - have always been important to me.

I like that creativity is such an important part of who I am.   Having a creative outlet is as vital to my wellbeing as food and water.

I like being a bit of an oddball.  I’ve never, ever wanted to be mainstream or conventional – I couldn’t imagine anything worse.  In the office, I’m the 52 year old woman who talks about cons and fandom, has a Supernatural back tattoo, marathons Star Wars and has Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy theme as her ring tone.  And I’m really proud of that individuality!

Like you, I find these kind of challenges difficult so congratulations on banging the Dizzo drum and for being proud of your individuality!

I empathise - I'm a 56 year old woman who's still obsessed with the Buffy 'verse nearly 20 years after it went off the air. I'm sure some folks in my RL think I'm weird, but it makes me happy and that's what counts. :)

Great you've done this challenge even though you found this difficult! And you've made an interesting post, telling us so much about yourself. Myself I'm (58 and) in many ways not conventional, but I'm not so bold as you, and I don't talk about fandom to my colleagues.♥

I never used to talk about it outside my fandom, but then I thought 'what the hell', it's not like I'm going out murdering people, so it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Everyone I work with think it's unique and fun :)

one of my favorite things about fandom in general (and some of the fandoms i've been in, in specific) is that there are so many oddballs. i mean, we're all weirdos here, and weird in so many different ways, and it's great. ^_^

I have an anti-possession tattoo with a pair of black angel wings across the back of my shoulders, with the words 'family don't end with blood' underneath!

individuality Way to go, Snowflake, and I'm with you talking about fandom to a crowd or one on one. I'm smiling at the ring tone, that's neat. :)

I love my ring tone - it's been with me a very long time, survived about five different mobile phones, and it's not going anywhere any time soon!
