Today's question:

Day 25 - Your day in great detail.

Oo-er, now this is a challenge.  What can I say to make my very uninteresting day sound remotely interesting?

Uh, not a bloomin' lot.

Breakfast with Mr Dizzo in our local coffee shop, then home where I made the beds, did some laundry, wrote a drabble and made a start on a new drawing while my husband was out in the shed tinkering with his bike when he was supposed to be checking the oil levels in my car.

Lots of stuff on the news about a storm which is due to batter the south of England overnight on Sunday; the worst storm for 25 years they reckon.  It's possible, therefore, that I'll be typing my journal from a pile of damp rubble on Monday,

Anyhoo, on to a pub in Winchfield earlier this evening where we met up with two good friends to catch up, wine and dine, then home to rest, relax and digest our delicious steak and ale pie!

Mr Dizzo has just spoken to one of his friends on the phone and the two of them have arranged to go out walking over Box Hill tomorrow.  Yeah, okay, just as the big storm is coming in!

I obviously married a nutter!

This storm is supposed to be even worse than the big ones over the last couple of years when everything flooded?? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you all—especially for your husband on his walk!

Ah, thank you for your good wishes!

I think the problem is that the BBC got caught out in 1987 when the weather forecaster read out a letter on air from a lady who had said she's heard there would be a hurricane, and the weather forecaster categorically denied that it would happen. Lo and behold, that very night we had the only hurricane we've ever had in living memory, so now, at the first threat of a strong wind, the media cover their ass by screaming about hurricanes for weeks before!

We get that too-- it usually causes a panicked run on bottled water at the grocery stores. With any luck, by the time it actually arrives it'll be a feeble, threadbare drizzle. :-)

Perhaps, but he's a nutter that enjoys healthy exercise in the extra storm freshened air. That's gotta count for something, right?

It's always bad when something's supposed to be the worst in 25 year, but most times it turns out way less bad than expected. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Mmmmm....steak and ale pie.

yes, a nutter, but a fit nutter!!

The problem with storms here is that the BBC got caught out in 1987 when the weather forecaster read out a letter on air from a lady who had said she had heard there would be a hurricane, and the weather forecaster categorically denied that it would happen. That night we had the only hurricane we'd ever had.

Now, as soon as there's the threat of the slightest puff of wind, the media cover their ass by warning about hurricanes!

The steak and ale pie was delicious. I understand meat pies aren't common in the US? If that's so, you don't know what you're missing!

Well, I can see the forcaster's point. Last year's Hurricane Sandy on the U.S. east coast was called "overhyped" until it wiped out a good portion of the New Jersy, New York and Ct. coasts. Watching water run like rivers through the tunnels in New York was a frightening sight.

And I had the good fortune to visit London about fifteen years ago (long before SPN and fandom, alas) and I had steak and ale pie. It was delicious and something we don't get in the states.
