I saw this sign in my local town this morning, and seriously, this sort of sloppiness makes me cringe.

I get that no-one is good at everything,  I'm a case in point - I'm crap at most things that don't involve words and creativity.  But for God's sake, if you're not sure - get a damn proofreader!!!

aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggggggghhhhh whyyyyy?

I'm with ya, sister! TI have had to work hard, since the rise of social media, to overlook more things and recognize that, as you say, not everyone has my particular and finicky eye for mechanics. But the whole "apostrophes to form a plural" phenomenon confounds me, especially since it's not consistent. I have a Facebook friend who has the SAME DEGREE I do, from the same college, in English, and she does this a lot... even after she asked me to proofread a cover letter for a job application she was submitting, and I explained the rule to her. I've tried to figure out when she feels an apostrophe is needed. I've had hypotheses that it's when the word is a pronoun, or when it ends with a vowel, but neither of those covers all the instances... or should I say, instance's? :-D :-D

This sign is more consistent than most! Apparently only "frames" doesn't need one. :-P ;-) What kills me is that the sign would be a nice, neat bit of advertising, if it were a bit more grammatical.

It's so funny how apostrophes mystify some people, isn't it!

I can see why they did in some places like "Passport & visa's" As they're trying to treat it like "Passport & visa" is singular so "Passport & visa's" must be plural, but then you come to "Digital Print's" and that kinda falls apart. XD If you ask me, I think that sign was created by someone who spends too much time commenting & trolling on the 'net. Either that or they're just dumb as dirt for copying down exactly the way the person, who ordered the sign, wrote an email & their stupid spell check added in all those apostrophes. XD

I just don't understand - why wasn't it proof read??
I'm sorry, I can tolerate most things, but this crap makes my teeth itch!!!!

The sad thing is, it probably was & the proof-reader also spends too much time online or texting, so that horrid ungrammatical nonsense looks normal.

I totally get that! I'm the same way when I watch the Olympics & they talk about athletes "medaling." Last time I looked, medal was a noun & not a verb. XD

The world decided it no longer needed proof readers and copy editors...and it shows!!!

I don't correct individuals, because not everyone's good with spelling and grammar and it's not that big a deal. But If I see a business or msm news site make a horrible error like this on an sm post, I'll sometimes let them know, purely because, as a business, they should be more professional and I'm embarrassed for them--they're waving their lack of professionalism around in public! Even then you get howled down by people who think you're being elitist.

We all make mistakes sometimes...this was not a mistake; it's too consistent...and it makes me cringe too!

I agree with you - it looks so horribly unprofessional; and now seeing the quality of their marketing, I really wouldn't want to use their services!

The damned apostrophe plural is so ubiquitous it'll probably be made official soon : /

If that day ever happens, I think I'll give up writing!

It is a cringeworthy sight. I to feel the need to just shake my head when I come upon errors such as that. Or when the incorrect spelling of a word is used in a sentence. Some people just don't know, don't care, or just don't want to be bothered. Aargh!
