Today's question is:

Day 4 - What is your Favourite Book?

Being a lifelong bookworm, I could nominate a suitcaseful of books as ones that I've enjoyed and would probably read again, but out of them all there is one book that I first read when I was about 12, and have read six or seven times since then.  From the first time I read it, I have never been without a copy. I last read it about three years ago and it still makes me cry.

That book is Watership Down.

Fluffy bunny rabbits.  What's not to like?

Have we had a mutual squee-fest about Watership Down yet? That's where my username comes from. I sent Richard Adams a copy several years ago, and he sent it back with a personal inscription. Seriously, if the house goes up in flames, I have that book strategically placed along one of the exit routes... that sucker is coming with!

I believe we have squeed copiously over watership Down in the past.

I can totally understand why your signed copy is so treasured.

I've got a signed copy of a book by David Attenborough who I have always adored ever since I was a kid, and he wrote 'with love' in it. I was totally star struck! Even now that book is definitely among my most prized possessions :D
