December 31 → best moment of the month


So, I've made it to the end of this December meme.  I hope you've enjoyed reading it as much as I've enjoyed taking part.

It would be too easy to say Christmas was the best moment of the month, because it was nice.




But for me, the best moment of the month was right at the beginning when I met up in London with my lovely  Hunter girls for our annual Christmas get-together.  Sixteen of us were there and had a wonderful afternoon.  We travelled in from all over the south of England, and were joined by friends from Belgium and Germany.



It made me reflect that with the exception of a couple of familial relationships, every one of us round that table wouldn't have known each other if it wasn't for our show.

And it's for reasons like that, that our show is so special to us, and so much more than 'just a show'.

And why we will mourn its end so very deeply.

It's so true that without our show none of us would ever have got to know each other, let alone meet. I know our fandom has it's nasty, toxic side but on the whole it's fantastic and has become a second family to so many of us. I'm so proud and pleased to have got to know you, the hunter girls (and boy!) and all my flisties through our fandom for our wonderful show.
