December 10 → a photo of you taken over ten years ago

Here are a couple of photos which were taken in the early 2000's - about 2002 - 2004 I reckon...

With Jake, a very special and much-missed friend!

Jake's Dad, Cam, was a Kiwi, and he and his British wife, Wendy, did a lot of travelling.  So when they went away, Jake stayed with us.  We reckon Jake lived with us about 2 - 3 months each year, as well us us getting together a lot when they were at home, so after his Mum and Dad, we were his favourite people in the world.

Jake moved to New Zealand with his Mum and Dad in 2004, and he lived a fabulous life there.  We got the opportunity to go over and see him one last time in 2006 before he passed in 2009 at the age of 13.

Cam and Wendy phoned us at 1 am in the morning to tell us he'd been put to sleep - we were the first people they told.  I did a lot of crying that night!

With my friend Wendy (Jake's Mum) at an outdoor concert in 2004.  Back in the days when I still had a waist!!!

He was. He was a really loving, friendly dog.

WOW! You look the same then as you do now!

Jake looks like a happy dog! I'm sorry to hear he'd passed over the rainbow bridge. *sighs*

Aw, thank you. A bit heavier and a bit greyer I'm afraid, but otherwise not too different I hope!

He was a gorgeous dog. So loving and friendly, and he had a great life.

Lovely. I also vaguely remember having a waist at one time. Wishing, hoping and working to find it again. Sometimes I think its futile, but I still have hope. Gotta love our animals. They are our children, only I think they mind better sometimes than children.

Yes, someone stole my waist, and I really want it back!

Our fur babies are very much part of the family, I know Jake was.

Aw, Jake was a beautiful dog, no wonder you were so sad when he died but it sounds like he'd had a wonderful life. Lovely pics - your face has hardly changed, lucky you!

He did have a great life - spoilt rotten!
Ha, thank you - I think I'm a bit heavier and a bit greyer than I was in that picture now, but hey ho, such is life!
