Happy Post: Arty Blast from the Past!
Oct. 17th, 2019 09:20 pmA bit of a blast from the past!
I was looking through an album of old photos, and I came across photos of two pictures that I produced far too long ago!
I remember drawing them because I wanted to take my experimentation with pastel pencils to a new level and depict something other than animals I was going through a bit of a 'Greek mythology' phase at the time, so I would date this around when I was 17/18. I have no idea where the actual original pictures are now!
So, this is Apollo and Artemis as I depicted them - sorry about the rubbish quality photos.

Date: 2019-10-17 08:57 pm (UTC)So, funny story. When I opened up the post I didn't read what your wrote, I instead went to the picture first to see what it was. On the first picture I didn't see the horse and man, instead I saw what looked like an ill formed fish or something of the like, with the brown wheel hub being the eye of the fish. I thought it a strange, odd sort of fish, I liked the colors, but I still couldn't figure out what it was. Then, I had to get up and tend to something right away and seconds later when I came back to look at the picture again I saw the horse, chariot and rider - and THEN I read your description. Funny how at first I couldn't see the horse or man but saw something different and then going away for a couples seconds and coming back that's all I saw and now I can't see what it was I first saw. Strange how our eyes will focus and draw conclusions on something at first glance. I can almost see what I first saw. The hub of the wheel is one eye and then the hat of the man is another eye. if you look offhand you might be able to see it. ;)

If I ever do get the opportunity to do my own stuff again, it'll be this sort of thing!
