dizzojayDay 2 - Rec at least three fanworks that you didn't create
For this challenge, I decided to raid my favourites list on my Fanfiction.net account. These fics are mostly older ones, representing a fairly broad cross-section of genres, and are written by authors who are not prominent or no longer active in the Supernatural fandom. However, that aside, I believe they still deserve plenty of love and appreciation!
The Users Guide to Supernatural Characters by Homeric, September 2009
This is one of the first fanfictions I ever read after discovering the Supernatural fandom. I remember crying with laughter at the brilliant and scarily accurate descriptions in the technical manuals for our lovely boys, It was one of many reasons why I enjoy writing humour so much in my fics, because I love the thought of someone reacting to my stories the way I reacted to this!
Double Whammy by Vanessa Sgroi, July 2007
A very enjoyable humour and hurt/comfort story from a great author who went on to become a dear friend. Not for the squeamish, as the summary suggests: 'Two men, two cases of food poisoning, one toilet'. :D
A Fresh Twist to a Knot which I do not wish to untie by Mousme, September 2010
This is a very unique take on an Mpreg, which manages at the same time to be bittersweet, angsty, cracky and full of delicious hurt/comfort.
Letting Go by Snchills - May 2016
WARNING: DEATH!FIC. This was one of the first and only deathfics I ever read. It takes place after the events of 'Faith' and centres around what would have happened if Dean hadn't been healed. I can only read it very rarely, because it affected me on a very profound level, and was the reason why I will never, EVER, read a death!fic in the office during my lunchbreak at work again!
I hope these fics bring you as much pleasure as they have to me over the years.
