3rd December - Movies this year

I've actually only been to see two films at the cinema this year; Mama Mia 2 and Bohemian Rhapsody.  Mama Mia was, in a similar vein to the original, fun and frivolous and full of toe-tapping Abba hits, but for me Bohemian Rhapsody was the film I'd been looking forward to since the spring, and it didn't disappoint.  I wrote my thoughts about it here.  In a nutshell, I believe if Rami Malik doesn't win an award for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury then a complete travesty will have taken place!

Aside from those two films, there were other films I wanted to see, but will be happy to wait until they come out on DVD or Sky, films like Darkest Hour, Solo, Johnny English and Slaughterhouse Rulez (because who doesn't love a bit of Nick Frost and Simon Pegg?)  I've heard mixed reviews about most of them, but I don't care about reviews, I like to make my own mind up - so we shall see when I finally get round to watching them all!

Snap! We saw the same two films at the cinema this year! I didn't get to see any others at the cinema, but I loved The Greatest Showman and really wished I'd seen that at on the big screen.

I liked Mamma Mia 2 but not as much as the original. However, I LOVED Bohemian Rhapsody and I agree with you that Rami Malek deserves several awards for his performance!

He's been nominated for a Golden Globe apparently; that's a start!
