15. Favourite fictional father

That would Calvin's Dad from the Calvin and Hobbes books.  He's an old school Dad who believes in the school of hard knocks and building character, and very often, his best intentions aren' t appreciated by Calvin - or Calvin's mother for that matter!

16. Can't believe more people haven't read.

Notes from a Small Island.

Bill Bryon's observations on Britain as an American ex-pat.  This is such a delightful little book, and although it was a best seller in its time, I know hardly anyone whho has read it.  It's like a mirror in which a British person with a sense of humour and self-depreciation can see themselves in hilarious detail, and I'd recommend it to anyone who is familiar with this quirky little island nation!

I've never read Calvin and Hobbes, but I love Notes from a Small Island. Bill Bryson has such a wonderful sense of humour and he loves our Small Island for all it's eccentricities as well as it's architecture and scenery!

Calvin and Hobbes is wonderful.
Calvin is a precocious little six year old boy with a very fertile imagination, and Hobbes is his toy tiger, who is just a toy, but is very much alive in Calvin's eyes, and they get up to all sorts of mischief an adventures together :D
