Shoulder update ...

I have my first fracture clinic appointment tomorrow.  I wish I could say this was something new, and that I didn't know what was going to happen, but sadly I'm all too familiar with fracture clinics on account of the fact that this is the third time I have fractured my left arm!





I cracked my left wrist in 1995, smashed my lower left humerus and elbow in 2007, and now, in 2018, I have fractured my left humeral head.  I don't know what the outcome of tomorrow's appointment will be; I'm hoping it wlll show decent healing so far, and I'l be able to get some kind of timeline on how long full healing will take, and when I can start thinking about physiotherapy to really get the recovery moving.

At least the bruising seems to be fading nicely:



What the fracture clinic won't tell me, I imagine, is what cosmic force my left arm has apparently pissed off.  Because I don't know why, and I don't know who, but what I do know is that someone, somewhere really, REALLY hates my left arm!!!!

Physio underway now, I had my second session yesterday, and my mobility is increasing everyday. Physio doesn't want to start working on strength for a couple more weeks, until I've got about six weeks healing behind me.

I hope you get good news at your appointment tomorrow. The cosmic universe is a fickle thing. Who really knows. Could be your left arm just has really bad luck.

That bruise was spectacular, but it's nearly all gone now thankfully.
I hope the cosmic universe has finished with my left arm now!

It did thankfully, they have started me on physiotherapy, so things are getting more mobile now!

That is still an impressive bruise - the colour is lessening but the sheer size is incredible!

I hope it goes well tomorrow and it's healing nicely so you get some kind of time-frame for physio etc.

That bruise was insane, wasn't it! It's mostly gone now, thankfully, just a few grey smudges left.

Awww. Glad to see your bruising is healing😆 I'm guessing you unconsciously protect yourself with your left arm more than your right, which is good I suppose. Fracturing your right arm would have been worse... unless you are lefthanded?

No, I'm right handed so breaking my right hand would be a disaster. You could well be right, that my body unconsciously protects my right arm more than my left?
