THE DOG DAYS

A little double drabble written for the weekend drabble challenge over on Fanfiction.net

Genre: Humour
Rating: K+
Characters: Sam and Dean
Spoilers/Warnings: Spoilers for 9.5. Dog Dean Afternoon.
Word Count: 200
Disclaimer: I don't own them ...

When Dean undertook the spell that enabled him to commune with dogs, there were a few unforeseen effects that Sam could never have imagined, and most probably wouldn't have wanted to anyway.

In hindsight, it really wasn't one of the brothers' finest ideas.

For instance, Sam could live with the scratching, and the panting.

The eating? Well, Dean's table manners had never been much to shout about anyway, so that wasn't a big deal either.

But the sniffing; that was definitely something that Sam could live without. That and the … well, let's just say that Sam had learned the hard way that, at the moment, lamp posts and fire hydrants were to be avoided at all costs.

He could even ignore Dean when he rolled over for a belly rub. Dean could whine and sulk all he liked; Sam wasn't going there or even thinking about going there. Ever.

So all in all, Sam thought he was dealing with the sheer absurdity of the situation rather well. However, there were limits.

And he knew that if Dean even attempted to hump his leg again, Brother or no brother, he wouldn't hesitate. Dean was heading straight down to the vets and getting fixed.
