Day 13 - Three Confessions of your choice
1. I once completely spontaneously bought a pet rabbit from a pet shop purely and simply to stop her being bought by some bratty kid who wanted 'that baby rabbit, I want it, I want it.' She was a Rex rabbit, so I knew she'd grow big and rangey, and when I saw this kid's parents looking at a poky little hutch that I wouldn't keep a gerbil in, I dragged Barry into the shop and said 'that's what I want for my birthday, that rabbit ...' I'd only dropped in there because I was at the garden centre where the pet shop was housed and I always liked to go in and look at the bunnies.
We bought her, and a little friend, right under the kid's snotty nose *evil grin* and called them April and Blossom.
They lived in the kitchen, eating off of a dinner plate until we managed to rabbit-proof the shed for them, and buy all the rest of the equipment we needed!!
2. I was at my friend Janet's house many years ago (we were both about 14), and we were messing about dancing in the kitchen and knocked a decorative plate off the dresser and broke it. When Janet's Mum got home from work she was furious, so we blamed the dog!
And, I've saved the most difficult one until last ...
3. This is such a horrible thing to admit to, and I feel like such a terribly bad fangirl, but I absolutely HATE the names of Jensen's twins. :(
It's none of my business what he calls his little cuties, but every time I hear those names, I cringe. They just make me think of these vacuous celebrities who give their kids stupid showy names which are totally for their own benefit, not the kids', and I know Jensen and Danneel are so much better than that.
I can totally see Zepellin and Arrow changing their names to Dave and Sue when they're old enough, and I'd totally understand and support them if they did!

Date: 2017-03-28 10:16 pm (UTC)I'm not a fan of the twins' names either. I don't get why parents come up with such 'way out there' kind of names for their kids. I can just imagine the teasing they will get growing up. But then, with their parents well known and all, maybe they won't get teased by the kids. Maybe they will be spared all the cruelty kids can heap on each other. Still, I'm not a fan either. If I were them, I would definitely change my name when I came of age. Even JJ is curious. I mean, JJ, shortened is cute and acceptable, but when people start asking what the JJ stands for? Justice?? I can't help but think she might be in for teasing.
I'm also not quite the fan of Jared and Gen's baby girls name. Odette is a femme fatale in the ballet Swan Lake. And wasn't she the evil character in that ballet movie with Natalie Portman? Not sure, never saw the movie. But here again you have parents giving their child some 'way out there' kind of name. I just don't get it.

Date: 2017-03-28 10:33 pm (UTC)*chuckles* And now, I totally want to write this character in a book, don't know what it'd be or about, but this is what happens when I let my imagination off it's leash.
As for Arrow...poor kid. This is all because her mother had a thing for Stephen Amell in tight-fitting green leather, but her father ex-nayed Stephanie as a possible name and so now she's stuck with Arrow! seriously, What. The. Fuck? She follows her brother, in all things, and corrects the disaster by opting for Ari (Ah-ree) which her friends love. But like her birth name suggests, Ari is straightforward, goes after what she wants, surmounts every challenge that crosses her path. She's going to be a doctor and bring modern healthcare to third world countries. She's going to travel the world, especially Nepal and Argentina. She might even let Zep tag along, if he stops ragging on her about her unswerving devotion to Sheppard Padalecki.
And now, I'm going to c/p this to my character prompt file, lol.
(In other words, I agree wholeheartedly with your third confession. x)

Date: 2017-03-28 11:11 pm (UTC)Olivia would've been better than Arrow and keep with the theme! Arrow Ackles, poor girl!

Date: 2017-03-28 11:47 pm (UTC)Zepellin makes me think of airships or blimps - hardly a positive image regarding a person :/
Hmmm...I don't know having the double A in the middle is a stumbling block when you say it where the A's at the beginning work. It's just...Arrow?...really? I guess it's marginally better than Apple (Gwenyth Paltrow's daughter).
But anyway, each to their own, and I did score some character bios out of this discussion ;)

Date: 2017-03-31 09:10 pm (UTC)The character bios are wonderful, unlike their names, poor kids!

Date: 2017-03-31 10:44 pm (UTC)*cringes* The thought of doing all of that freaks me out, because I'm always worried I'll lose the literary gold that's been downloaded to my mind in that space between sleeping and waking.

Date: 2017-03-28 11:08 pm (UTC)I love the plate story, poor dog!
I'm not a fan of any of Jensen's kids names! Justice is weird, although JJ is cute (!), Zep is better than the full version but Zep and Shep could get confusing! Arrow is also just weird! The only Padackles kid name I actually like is Tom!

Date: 2017-03-29 01:35 am (UTC)3. Yeah... also, in Hollywood where body image is everything - naming your kid after a blimp? But, I doubt those kids will go to school and they will mostly be around other celeb kids so won't feel so weird? It doesn't bother me as I'll never have to see them - my niece (who has an honest to God smush name) I just avoid calling by her name.
Though my Aunt is friends with Jamie Oliver and they had names that were worse!

Date: 2017-03-29 02:42 am (UTC)That poor dog!! XD
I'm sorry, but those names are weird. I mean if they wanted to name him after Led Zepplin what's wrong with James Robert? I'm not really a fan of Stephanie, but Stevie kinda cute. What about Amellie instead of Emily if they wanted something a lil funky? I guess celebs just like weird names. *shrugs*

Date: 2017-03-29 05:18 am (UTC)I don't like the names either. I really am glad that we have laws here how to name your kids, like you need to be able to tell the sex (or gender? dont know) by the name, and it mustn't make fun of or humiliate the kid. So Pepsi-Carola is a no-go; good thing, huh?

Date: 2017-03-29 10:15 pm (UTC)3) oh These names... the more I think about the names ... sorry... but they are Special (true) and so... NOT BEAUTIFUL... I have to admit first I thought this should be a joke...
there are so many wonderful names ... simple names... *sigh* I hope These Little ones won't be teased to much in kindergarten and at School...

Date: 2017-03-30 08:44 am (UTC)At first, I wasn't keen, but they obviously have meaning for Jensen and Danneel, and I'm actually finding I like Arrow more than Zeppelin now. Okay, so it's not the most conventional name (and looking it up, seems to be used more as a boy's name than a girl's)... you can kind of imagine it being a hippy or native name (like with River Phoenix), whereas Zeppelin just makes me think of the band :P.

Date: 2017-04-05 10:19 pm (UTC)Zeppelin's name has a special meaning for Jensen, so I accept that it makes him happy. I prefer more common names, but I'm ok with the names being a bit different.
