We should give Roy some of these for 60K! So where's your Jewish heritage?

That's a good idea, I'm sure Roy needs all the help he can get - I don't know how he thinks them all up!

My Jewish heritage is pretty diluted. It was my great grandmother on my Dad's side. She wasn't a practicing Jew - for a start she married the most religiously disinclined man you can possibly imagine!! - but it's nice to think there's that little bit of variety in the mix!

My great grandfather on my Mum's side was Maltese, so we're a bit of a mix and match family! :)

I always think it's nice to mix it up - my family isn't terribly exotic that I know of. Mainly English and Irish.

YAY!! It's nice to meet another Jewish girl!! It seems like everyone I know here is either Christian, Pagan, or has their own set of beliefs. XD

Hey there!
I'm afraid I fall into your category of 'other set of beliefs', I'm a humanist through and through! My great grandmother was my Jewish heritage, she didn't practice, and other than her, my Dad's family were all non-practicing Christians. However, I just love to think I've got that little bit of variety in my background. She passed away when I was ten and I remember her as a lovely, clever and interesting lady that I spent a very large part of my early life with.

*waves*

Okay. It's not like we really practice either, aside from observing Pesach, Yom Kippor, & Hanukah. The last time I was in shul was for my cousin's bat mitzah. And that variety is a lovely thing. :D I'm sorry about Granny's passing, but I think it's awesoem she was a big part of your life. *huggles*

I was thinking about you and Mr D earlier, listening to Kaleo's track that is sung in their native Icelandic!

Oh there's a couple of great Icelandic bands - Sigur-Ros is another one. Like Bjork, all the performers that come out of Iceland have that touch of eccentricity and individuality about them. You can see that culture pervading everything in Iceland - buildings, shop windows, even their main church, Hallgrimskirkja, looks like a space rocket!

Oh yes, Sam is a fan of Sigur-Ros, I forgot about them! Perhaps it's because Iceland is so isolated with no near neighbours to influence the culture that it is so quirky and eccentric!

Spiders aren't all that bad. They're just icky. Did you get a kitchen floor chosen?

From: [identity profile] dizzojay.livejournal.com
Yes they are very icky. Luckily I have a resident spider catcher, so any 8-legged beasties that take up residence in our home are usually evicted safe and unharmed.

I did choose a kitchen floor, just sent the quotation to the insurance company so that I can hopefully get the work programmed in!
