Today the sad news broke that Andrew Sachs passed away aged 86 after a long battle with dementia.
Andrew Sachs was the genius behind Manuel, the hapless bumbling spanish waiter in Fawlty Towers, one of the iconic comedy characters of British culture.
Manuel may have been created by John Cleese and Connie Booth when they wrote Fawlty Towers, but it was Andrew Sachs who brought him to life and wedged him firmly into the hearts of every British person for whom the phrases 'Que?' and 'I know nah-thing!' have entered the national lexicon.
Thank you for the laughs Andrew ...
Adios Manuel x
