My dear F/listies.

I'm taking this brief break from convention madness to concentrate on dapplegrey art matters.

The time is upon me when I submit an entry to the annual Ken Bromley Art Supplies Cover Comptition.

Ken Bromley Art Supplies is the UK's largest online art supplies retailer and their competition is for artists all over the UK to submit art so that the winner will feature on the cover of their autumn/winter catalogue. I've never won it, but I have been shortlisted into the final fifty nationwide on all but one of the times I've entered.

And this is where I'm asking for your help ...

I need help to decide which of my pictures to submit. I've narrowed it down to four of my originals shown below), and I'm going to ask you to tell me which one you like best as a comment to this post. The picture that gets the most of your votes is the one I'll submit.

So ... speak, and I will listen!!

I'm having trouble deciding between 3 and 4... probably 3 for the tongue in cheekiness of it.

I'd vote for #2. The splash of color from the cloth is a nice contrast to the different shades of brown in the dog and the background. You also did a pretty good job with the fabric folds, which isn't easy.

I really like 1, because it is so cute and whimsical, but I have to go with 2. Please note: I am not a dog/puppy person, but even I would have a hard time staying mad at that dog.

Really tough decision. I think I've gone with the donkey in the past and will do so again. The bit of dirt kicked up by his hind legs just makes it for me. My second choice is the fox.

I'd take a look at past winners and see what elements they have in common, then pick the image that is closest.

These are all so lovely, but the fox howling at the moon is my favourite, I love the colours, especially his fur, and the way he's sitting, he looks very pleased with himself!

3. Because it shows that you don't have to buy a lot of stuff. A few pastels, black Ingres and you are set. Plus, it shows the medium at its best, and especially how good you are using it. Black Ingres 4EVAH!

I like all the motives, but 1 and 2 are... too children's book, I think. 3 is unusual, and I prefer it to 4, even though that is both simple and well-composed, and with lovely colours.

Yep. 3, with 4 as a close second.

It's between #1 and #3 for me but the one with the fox is just piping #1. So I vote #3, just love the colours of it and how the fox stands out against the moon.

Ooh. Tough choice. I'd go with number 2. I think, number 1 is lovely, but the orientation is perhaps wrong for a catalogue cover and number 3 is perhaps too dark for a catalogue cover. Out of 2 and 4...I just like the colours a bit better on 2, both are fabulous! :)

I like the fox one best, maybe because I am partial to them, but I think maybe the donkey is more unique. I love the little sprays of dirt coming up off the hooves.
