Well, today marks the end of the busiest week I've had in a long time.  Apart from all the great meet ups I mentioned in my recent post, and establishing myself in my new job, I've been over to the Isle of Wight this weekend, where my lovely Mum and Dad, bless them, have saved up all the errands that they can only do when I have the car over there, so in the space of the last 36 hours I've been to the supermarket, to the curtain shop, to the town centre, to the tip, to the churchyard where my granparents are interred, and to the Garden Centre.  I think I'll go back to work for a rest!!!

And to top a craazy, but nice, weekend with a great big - and very shitty - cherry, my car has decided to be a complete douchenozzle, and gave me a bloody fright on the motorway coming home.  The automatic gearbox just decided to randomly jerk down from 4th to 2nd while I was doing 70 mph on the M3.  If there had been a car close up behind me, I would have been wearing it!  So it looks like I've got all the inconenience and expense of a garage visit to look forward to over the next few days ... milly_gal, it looks like you and I will travelling up to Asylum in a hire car, because mine is unlikely to be fixed before then!

So, I'm totally behind on my F!List - so sorry guys, I don't think I'm ever going to be able to catch up, so I'm just going to pick up from tomorrow.  If there's anything you wanted me to see from over the last four or five days, let me know.

Now, I'm going to bed.  I'll have to be quiet, because I don't want to wake Dean up ...

No wonder you're exhausted it sounds like you've been rushed off your feet, talk about a hectic week. I can understand going back to work for a rest after all the fun you've had this weekend.

That's really crappy news about your car, and talk about rotten timing. I've got my fingers crossed they manage to repair it in time for A16. As for anything new you need to know about....let's see oh yeah I've been scribbling again and finally managed to post a fic! Apart from that I can't think of anything.

Playing chauffeur all weekend clearly did your car in as well as you! Last time I hired a car I used Enterprise - they were pretty good.

As for happenings - not much of note. I'm too busy trying to get all my fandom commitments done before A16 arrives! Meep!

I've hired through a company over at Heathrow. They only charged me £13.50 a day. I'm not taking any chances with A16. The car was in the garage in February for the same fault and they hoped they'd fixed it. They clearly hadn't; it needs to go in and be properly looked at.

£13.50 a day isn't much to pay for peace of mind! No risks with A16 is a very sensible strategy!

Crap honey, no wonder you're cream crackered! I'm thinking perhaps your car disliked playing chauffeur as much as you did! But at least you're safe!! I'd have had kittens! *hugs* That was close!

I hope you manage to get the car fixed before A16 or they give you a replacement whilst you do!

As for happenings, the usual spammage and random outings with Steve. Got some more artwork done, nothing you need worry yourself about bb. Just chill and try and relax, despite going back to work!

I've hired a car to drive up to A16. Renault let me down on the courtesy car last time I took my car in, so I'm not taking any chances this time. I pick it up on the Wednesday before A16!!

Well that was a very busy weekend on top of a busy week, are you on the Red Bull yet?! That's awful about your car, it must have been pretty scary, thank goodness there wasn't a car up close to you *hugs* It sounds like a good plan to have a hire car for A16, but if anything happens we can fit you and Milly in my car!

So much for a relaxing visit with the 'rents. You did have a very busy week. Not something I would like to have on a regular basis.

I hate car troubles. Plugging money into getting them fixed is such a waste, I say. But, it is a necessary evil if you want to go from place to place. I hope your repair doesn't end up being too expensive.
