A little apology

I'm sorry if I haven't been around on Lj, commenting on my F/listies and responding to posts as much as usual!

It's the first week in my new job, and things are going well - I think!

I'm really enjoying it; it's certainly a challenge - in a good way.  The team seem lovely.  They've all made me very welcome, and I have a manager who talks to me, spends time with me and is positive and encouraging.  Basically all the things that Gaz the nob end wasn't.

As nice as my new team are, I miss my lovelies from my old job terribly.  However, after a flurry of texts today, we've all arranged to get together for drinks after work on the 21st April, so that's awesome.

It's very weird going from being the old stager who was generally regarded as being the font of all knowledge to being the newbie who knows bugger all, and as a result I've got a complete and utter brain overload going on.

So I refer you back to my initial comment.  I'll be back to regular commenting and Lj play soon, I just need to get into a new rhythm, and routine, so bear with me!

In the meantime, here's a little something to make amends for my recent tardiness ...

So glad to hear everything with you new job is going well. I was wondering about that yesterday and hoped that you were having a fairly easy transition. Yes, it is never easy starting a new job, being the low man on the totem pole. But, I am sure you will absorb everything quickly and will fast become a font of all knowledge within months time. And what fun you will have on the 21st. You can trash talk the nob hole freely and have a good laugh.

Lovely picture, and yes, staring at the best is a wonderful thing to do. Too bad his shirt doesn't go just a teeny bit higher so we can see his belly button. Quite the lust worthy picture.

Thank you, I'm really enjoying the job, and feeling encouraged and valued, which is so different to the last five months. There will be definite character assassination taking place on the 21st, I can tell you that!

Oh yes, any view of that scrumptious midriff is very welcome - the more, the better!!! ;)

Feeling valued at your job really does make a huge difference, doesn't it? My current job I feel very much valued and appreciated, unlike any other job I have ever really had, so I do understand what you mean. Having that feeling really motivates you to want to do better and be better, at least that has been my experience recently.

It's so odd being a newbie, especially when you know your shit, but it's a new space and new people. You'll rock it honey! You just have to find your footing :) I'm so glad that this manager seems to do the stuff she/he's meant to, like communicate! *hugs* Miss you, but take the time to settle in and let your brain do it's thing, we'll still be here when you get back! x

I'm so pleased it's going well and your manager is a human being and not a tosser! It will feel strange at first to be the newbie, but it's also exciting to have a fresh start and a new challenge. And you'll still be able to meet up with the girls from your old team for a good old gossip!

Also, you really don't need to apologise for not being around, we all knew you'd be busy this week!

Yes, my Manager is a lady called Anita, and we'e really hit it off this week. I'm really looking forward to meeting up with my lovelies on the 21st. I've been keeping in touch with Donna and Jenni who are still at the madhouse, to check they're okay.
