Dean stood at the top of the wide, sweeping staircase in the haunted manorhouse.
Finally, the hunt was over and he could relax.
He couldn't help a smile as his eyes travelled down the long curving bannister.
It had to be done.
Cocking his leg over the broad handrail, he straddled it, then pushed off from the top step, whooping in exhilaration as he hurtled backwards down the gleaming mahogany … toward the bronze acorn-shaped finial at the rail's end.
THUD!
Eyes watering profusely, Dean staggered away in breathless silence.
Now, as well as the acorn, there would be two other nuts adorning that bannister.
