Date: 2015-07-06 07:48 pm (UTC)In terms of my favourite thing to draw, that would be animals, particularly horses. I particularly like to draw animals with a fantasy or slightly whimsical twist. Also, latterly I've been getting back into the swing of drawing portraits of people with my supernatural portraits, and I've really been enjoying that!

Date: 2015-07-06 07:59 pm (UTC)My artspiration is very simple. To be able to give up my day job and do something creative for a living instead. I haven't given up hope of getting into Graphic Design, but unfortunately my next step on that particular path is way more money than I can find (about £10,000), so I need to figure out a source of funding, and find a colleage that actually runs the course because my local college discontinued it last year. :(

Date: 2015-07-06 08:14 pm (UTC)What could I stand to improve on? Everything. Art is a journey without a destination; and I hope I'll always keep learning and picking up new tips from other artists.

Date: 2015-07-07 07:18 pm (UTC)I'm not entirely sure what number 25 means. Is it asking whether I've ever cheated? If that's so, then yes I have very rarely traced something on the odd occasion if I've needed to save time or something like that. I always feel very naughty, and don't like doing it!
It's really difficult to isolate the worst piece of art I've ever done, I've got several pieces I don't like very much. When I first started dabbling with doing Supernatural portraits, I produced a couple of real horrors as I was getting back into the swing of drawing human faces again. Possibly the worst one I did was this one of Dean.

I was okay with it at the time, but since I've gone on to do a few far better pictures now that I seem to have got my eye in a bit more, I look back on it now and think 'ugh!'
For the record, I still think that Jensen is really hard to draw!

Date: 2015-07-07 07:26 pm (UTC)I know exactly what you mean about tracing, but everyone I respect as 'proper' artists keeps telling me it is a perfectly legitimate thing to so - and I know that even masters like Michelangelo did it so...I am getting more relaxed about using it on occasion.

Date: 2015-07-07 07:35 pm (UTC)May favourite piece of art is a tough one, because there are several that I'm really proud of or that mean a lot to me for various reasons, but i am particularly fond of these two horse portraits. I love drawing horses, and I think the love I have for these amazing animals really comes out in these two portraits - I these are the two best horse pictures I have ever done.
I don't know what I would 'absolutely' refuse to draw. I guess maybe some of the more extreme slash kinks? Anything that was likely to promote or glamorise a cause I loathe. Luckily I've never been asked to draw anything like that, so it's not likely to be a problem!

Date: 2015-07-07 07:42 pm (UTC)I don't ever really remember getting 'into' art. From the time I was a toddler, there were always crayons and colouring books and paper lying around the house.
My Dad was really supportive of me learning to draw and to him it was as important that I learned to draw as it was that I learned to read, write and do sums!
