I admire you for #7, I can't watch it anymore, usually too depressing, but especially with the elections coming up!

#9 yaaaay!

I must admit, I can only stand it for so long, and with the elections coming up, as you say, and unctious politicians sliming their way into the news at the moment, it's even more depressing.

The problem is they are all prats so who on earth can we vote for?? I always vote but it's getting harder as the gap between Tory & Labour closes and there's no third option.

You read my mind. There's not a single one of the main parties that I'd make an effort to vote for, yet, I feel I should make an effort because so many brave people have fought in the past for my right to vote - both as a free english person and as a woman.

My MP is Michael Gove (yeah, I know *blushes*), and there is apparently a local artist/art teacher who is going to stand against him as a protest against Gove's systematic downgrading of arts in the national curriculum. I'm actually seriously considering voting for that guy. I know he's only one man without a hope in hell of getting anywhere - Surrey Heath is one of the safest Tory seats in the country - but it's a protest and it's something that I believe in.

I think that's the only way to do it, to vote for this best person locally. I really wish there was a box for "none of the above" as then we could still vote but make our dissatisfaction known!
