So it has to be said, November has been a funny old month!

The good:

So we're all well, and life is ticking along nicely.  Mr D and I treated ourselves to our early Christmas present to each other this weekend.  We have a new coffee machine, you know, one of those with a grinder, milk steamer etc, and we've been trying to get the hang of using it.  It's really spaceage compared to our old one which went kaput a few years ago. So far I've had a cappuccino with enough foam to put a fire out and Mr D had a cappuccino with no foam at all!!!

The bunbuns are fine and still ruling our life and we, of course, are loving every minute of it!

I was at Mum and Dad's last weekend and Dad is still presenting his art history/analysis sessions.  Word's getting around and he's now routinely got around 7 or 8 in his sessions rather than the 3 or 4 he started off with.

I left them on Sunday with my latest orders.  The next session is french impressionism, so I had to print off a selection from Monet. Manet. Pissaro, Renoir, Lautrec, Seurat and Degas.  The great thing about this is that I'm learning too.  When I studied art history, I specialised in renaissance era work, so I'm learning a lot more about artists and periods that I didn't study much

The bad:

Work has been a bit challenging this month.  The company has been going through a tough time, we all knew that, but it seems that it's been a tougher time than most of us knew.  There's a big cost cutting project going on and some jobs are head office are going to be laid off.  I've been told that my job is safe, for now at least, which is good to know, but I do feel for the people who are dealing with this right before Christmas

The Ugly:

I, and a few of our happy little gang, were supposed to be heading to the Netherlands for a convention called Netherangels next weekend.

However, about three weeks ago, right out of the blue, a notice appeared on their website that the con had been cancelled.  After a few days of confusion, the news broke that the organiser had gone bust.

It was so close to the date of the con, so we'd all bought our tickets and extras so now begins the fun and larks of trying to reclaim what money we can.  I'm quietly hopeful because I paid for most of it on my credit card, but I know some people aren't so lucky.

I do at least have the cost of my hotel and the Eurostar back, so that's something at least!

On the plus side, I had finished a picture of Balthazar for Sebastian Roche to sign.

I guess that will have to wait until the next time our paths cross now!
