100 Days of Happiness - Day 29

As it was such a beautiful afternoon, Mr D and I decided to take a little stroll over beautiful Windlesham Arboretum earlier this evening.



We're very lucky to have this on our doorstep!

Yes it is. It's made up of masonry from an actual church that was demolished about ten years ago. It's a gorgeous little piece of work

It is lovely, isn't it. It's not ruins as such, it was built about ten years ago out of masonry from an actual church that was demolished. It's very cleverly done.

They do sometimes stage little events around it. The problem is, the arboretum is run by a tiny little trust and they just don't have the budget to stage anything big there.

Well isn't that just the most peaceful looking place. I could sit out with my sketchpad for hours and just relax :)

It really is a very peaceful place, almost otherworldly, sometimes I can almost imagine fauns and unicorns strolling around the place. It's quite a big area and it's got lots of curious little follies like this dotted around.

How beautiful is that? Man I do love me a folly, oh to have the kind of money to build random ruins. Yes you are very lucky to something like that on your doorstep.
