Snowflake Challenge - Day 5

Day 5 - Search in your current space, whether brick-and-mortar or digital. Post a picture (a link to a picture will be fine!) or description of something that is or represents:

1. Something your favorite character would like

It’s generally know that Dean Winchester from Supernatural enjoys his pie. It’s wonderful that through the medium of fiction he can stuff his face with pie whenever he likes and still look like a freaking Adonis! I’m given to understand that pies are generally a dessert thing in the USA and that meat pies aren’t a very widely known thing. They are, however, very popular in the UK. I’m therefore offering Dean a delicious steak and ale pie, and I think he would polish it off very enthusiastically!

2. Something that makes you laugh

I could nominate lots of things here, but I’m going to say my long-suffering Supernatural widow hubby, Mr D. His irreverent sense of humour has reduced me to tears on many occasions and it’s a testament that after 29 years of marriage, we can still laugh together.

3. A fandom place you would like to visit

Although it no longer exists (as a set anyway), I would have loved to visit the Men of Letters bunker from Supernatural

4. A fandom creator (pro or not) you'd like to meet

I would have loved to meet Douglas Adams and find out about his inspiration for the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy stories. He was a great man with a brilliant mind, taken way too soon.

5. Something you find comforting

I had to think about this one because there are lots of things I find comforting. My home, my husband, my friends, good food, nice wine, and a favourite familiar movie on TV. So I’m going to pick one of my favourite foods, which is something I often eat socially, so I always associate it with love and friendship. A yummy cheeseboard!

6. Something from a favorite TV series or movie from your childhood

Me in (I think) 1978 with that year’s must have Christmas gift.

7. A piece of clothing you love

My wedding dress. It no longer fits me, but I still have it. I designed it myself and it was made by a local seamstress. It’s still very, very special to me!

 

8. A book or song with a color in the title

I’m going to choose a favourite book from my middle school years – Black Beauty

9. Something only someone in your fandom would understand

In the Supernatural it’s not at all unusual to hear people say ‘I love Death, he’s such a sweetie’. He really is, and I can vouch (from personal experience) that he’s a good hugger too!

That is an amazing list! And if Dean doesn't want that steak and ale pie, send it my way!

I suspect a lot of us have long-suffering hubby/SO that encourage us to enjoy our fandoms without having a clue about the fandom. I know, I have one at home myself!

That wedding dress is gorgeous... it looks lovely and so do you!

Honestly, I think if it's pie and it's good pie, Dean's all for it. I guess it depends if he want sweet or savoury? :P

Yasss, Douglas Adams would be my #2 after Neil Gaiman. I love sci-fi, and Hitch Hiker's is just such a fun world with quirky things.

Black Beauty was definitely one of my favs as a kid as well!

we don't do meat pies so much in the us, no, but we have quiche which... dean would not be caught dead eating. a steak and ale pie is very much his thing tho.

First of all the meat pie looks delicious. My grandmother used to make something like it that she learned how to make in Italy.

Next your wedding pictures are awesome. You’re beautiful. And your husband sounds like he’s fun.

Thank you so much - a lot of very talented people worked very hard to make me look so nice on my wedding day! And yes, hubby is fun - he has a VERY naughty sense of humour (which I Love!)

Yes, Discworld's Death is a cutie - ONLY SPEAKING IS CAPITAL LETTERS is quite a talent. And, you've got to love anyone who rides a horse called Binky!
