This is a picture that's hanging on my landing wall and it makes me very happy for a couple of reasons.

Firstly it was done by my Dad who has always been a huge admirer of Walt Disney.  I can't remember when he drew it, but it's always been around, so I'm guessing some time in the seventies when I was a child.

When I left home, my Dad and I made an arrangement - he kept one of my pictures and I took one of his.  In the end it didn't work out quite like that because I couldn't make my mind up and took two of his :)

This picture has a particular charm for me though because very many years after this was drawn, I met Mr Disney and later went on to become Mrs Disney.

Kismet or what?

Although it kind of looks like my Dad thanking Barry for taking me off his hands!!!! :)

Cool! That's a still from Fantasia - when Mickey thanks the conductor (and I should remember his name, but I can't) for coming to play Toccata and Fuge

That's right, it's one of my Dad's favourite films. The conductor was Leopold Stokowski.

I loved Fantasia! That is a lovely pic too, especially given all its associations - both your Dad and Bazza!

I know - coincidence or what?
I love Fantasia too, it's an amazing film that really showcases just what a visionary Walt Disney was!

Visionary - so what a pity he turned out to be a complete fascist. :(

What a lovely picture. At a first quick glance it could almost be like a father reaching down to his child, but then you look closer and you see the mouse ears and nose. That is a great picture.

Thank you - I really love it, and you're right about the image of father and child, it's a very tender image :)
