I agree with you about the right age. I enjoyed my 40s. If I could go back and redo any years, it would them those. You said it perfectly, you're at an age where you are comfortable with who you are, and even comfortable with your age. Although my 50s have been good, too. Ideal single age, anywhere from 43-46 sounds good to me.
