I first started exploring Supernatural fanworks on Fanfiction.net at the beginning of 2010, and I have been on a truly amazing journey ever since.

There were a whole lot of writers around in those days, some of whom are still active, some of whom no longer write, and some who have moved on to other fandoms.

Some of the very first fanfictions I read and loved were
'He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother' by EFW and 'A Place To Call Home' by Purehalo.

As far as I'm aware, neither of these writers are still actively writing - not in the Supernatural fandom at least, but there is no doubt that these were two stories that made me think 'I want to do that'.

I never had the pleasure of getting to know these ladies as I believe they moved on from the Supernatural fandom before I even joined, but I'm grateful to them for giving me some wonderfully indulgent hurty/comfort sick!Dean to enjoy forever and, in doing so, were two of the many fantastically talented people that awoke my muse, and continue to keep her awake!

Nice! It's wonderful what can inspire our own muse and allow us to join in fandom endeavors in different ways!

You always hold the ones who introduced you to your love (even fandom) close to your heart. I thank them for that, otherwise I would be never known the brilliant light that is you.

I do love the story by EFW. Such a great hurt!Dean and brotherly moments all nestled into one wonderful story. I've read it several times and love it more each time I read it.

I have never heard of the other story, or the author. It looks good. I will add this to my thousands of fics yet to read and look forward to reading it.

They're both fun stories. The one by Purehalo is part of a series, and you can find her writings on Fanfiction.net

I'm not as familiar with fanfiction.net as I am with LJ and AO3, but I'll check these inspirational stories out. Thanks for sharing them.
