100 Days of Happiness - Day 18

When I go to visit my parents, I often take any art project I'm working on with me; something I can sit and do while my parents are watching crap Saturday night TV.  This weekend was no different, so I was able to really get stuck in on my Sam and Dean portrait, and with an additional hour's work this evening, finally got it finished.

I was really pleased that this is the first double portrait I've finished to my satisfaction - normally I make a good job of the first figure, an then bugger up the second!

And yes, there's a touch of my new pink pencil in this picture!

I can definitely see the rose madder in Sam! I think Sam's turned out better than Dean - that angle suits Sam's face and you've got the shadowing nicely, emphasising that lovely bone structure.

Yes, his shading is so much more intense than Dean's - in the reference picture I used, Dean was in bright light, and Sam was in Dean's shadow!

Yes, in the reference picture I used, Dean was in bright light, and Sam was in Dean's shadow, so there are some nice shaded angles on Sam's face.
