100 Days of Happiness - Day 64

There's a Starbucks store across the road from where I work, and I pop in there pretty much every lunchtime for my skinny latte.

As I was ordering my coffee today, the lady behind the counter said to me.  "You're always so nice and smiley and courteous, it's always nice to see you when you come in".

I was really touched and pleasantly taken aback!  I would never have thought that the simple act of treating people the way you'd like to be treated yourself is particularly comment-worthy.  Maybe it is!

That was my happy warm fuzzy for the rest of the day :D

That's really cool that the clerk would say something. Gestures as simple as smiling and being friendly are not acknowledged as often as they should be. I'm glad this person acknowledged to you for being that way. Just being nice and treating others how you would want to be treated is such a simple gesture, and yet, unfortunately, I find that so many people have a hard time behaving in such a manner. Good for you!

It's always nice to be called out for being courteous isn't it? :) I try hard to be that way myself. It doesn't always happen but I try my best. :) I love these pictures of the Js hugging! So sweet!

my wawa convenience store say the same thing about me! it's where i go to get my coffee all the time and they've taken to calling me "sweetie" it's very lovely, and i try to be as nice to people as possible bc you never know what could brighten their day! so cheers to you!!!!

I try my best too. It takes such a small amount of effort to just be pleasant, and you can improve someone's day by doing it.

I'd hate to work with the public as well. Although, in my job we do see a fair amount of "public" people, but it is a more centralized type of person. Most of the time they are nice and friendly. Occasionally we will get some stinkers, but for the most part, we meet some very lovely people. I always try to put my best foot forward. There are times I just can't, though.

I have watched some people who's behavior has been utterly atrocious. Some people just like to be mean. I feel sorry for the ones that are on the receiving end of atrocious behavior. Having been on the receiving end numerous times, I always do try to be nice.

Nothing, except now you have people thinking you're a rude asshole. i was always nice, bc that's just how i was raised. in these last few years though, i've become a walking ball of sunshine when i go anywhere.. and there are days i don't go anywhere bc i'm in a bad mood lol.

It really does? But alot of people forget to do it. I find it's just easier to be nice if possible. You get more with honey than you do vineagar. :)
