Snowflake challenge - day 6

 Day 6 - In your own space, share a favourite piece of original canon (a show, a specific TV episode, a storyline, a book or series, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much.

 

In Supernatural, my favourite show, (did I mention that?) I have a particular love of Dean’s relationship with the Impala.

He loves his Impala, and it is abundantly clear throughout the show that she means everything to him.

Canonically, she is the only individual in his life that has never let him down.

At some point throughout his life, everyone has let Dean down.  His father, his mother, Castiel, Bobby, even Sam.  But the Impala has remained loyal and steadfast. She has always been there for Dean and sacrificed herself for him on several occasions.  He reciprocates that love by the devoted care he lavishes upon her, in a way, she is the only woman he truly loves and cares for.

Despite being someone who has no interest in cars, I adore Dean’s relationship with the Impala and I have a headcanon that she has her own personality and character.  She’s a mature woman who is comfortable in her own beauty and strength.  A bit of a cougar, she loves Dean back, and is not above having a little flirt with him but is fiercely protective of him.  I think of the Impala as Dean’s (and also Sam’s) Momma wheels.

I have written over fifty drabbles and one shots from the Impala’s POV, she’s one of my favourite characters to write in fanfiction.
