Snowflake Challenge - Day 2
Jan. 3rd, 2022 04:00 pmChallenge #2
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Last year as a year of uncertaincy and loss (for everyone, not just me), and I felt as if I'd lost a bit of my fandom mojo. The love was still there, but the energy wasn't. A combination of mourning the end of Supernatural and the phenomenon that was J2, losing one of my closest friends within and outside of fandom, and constant upheaval of various conventions being postponed, rearranged, repostponed etc and missing my real life fandom buddies as a result, took the gloss and sparkle from my fandom experience in 2021.
I want to reclaim that gloss and that sparkle this year. I'd like to write more fandom words than I wrote in 2021 and maybe take pat in a new writing challenge.
From a personal point of view, I was thrilled and proud of myself when I lost 47 pounds in weight over the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. That's three stone and 5 pounds in British money. I would love to make that 4 stones (56 pounds). I was doing OK in keeping the weight off, although a few pounds had started to creep back on toward the latter end of the year, and then over Christmas and new year I feel like I've eaten my entire bodyweight, and so my weight has spiked to about 14 pounds (1 stone) up on where I was in April last year. Now, would seem to be the ideal opportunity, while I'm motivated, to not only lose the weight I put on over Christmas, but get back on the wagon and try to reach that magic 4 stone marker. By my reckoning, that's 23 pounds.
So that's my personal goal. Lose 23 pounds!
