100 Days of Happiness - Day 67
Jul. 18th, 2018 09:39 pmA good day at the fracture clinic today. The delightful Mr Wee once again was happy with my progress, and told me that he didn't need to see me again, and that he was handing me over to physiotherapy. I asked him about the sling, and he said I could start to 'wean myself away from it'. I sheepishly explained that I've probably been doing that for most of the last week, so he laughed and just said, 'fair enough, bin it then!'
The physio was happy with the movement I've got in my arm so far. Basically, I have about a 25-30% range of movement in my shoulder which is about 20% more than I had when I went to see her last time. She warned me that because of the nature of the break (the humeral head is just very slightly off-centre in the position that it's healed in), I'm unlikely to get the full range of movement back in my left shoulder. particularly in terms of raising my arm above my head, maybe 80-85% - but that's fine. It's hardly going to impact me on a day to day basis - just don't ask me to do a mexican wave!!!
So, all in all, a good day!
