Snowflake Challenge - Day 9
Jan. 9th, 2018 07:11 pmDay 9 - In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator
I'm only active in the Supernatural fandom, and there are three types of fanworks that I produce; fanfiction, digital art and traditional art, so I'm going to showcase one of each for this posting.
Fanfiction:
One character in our show that I absolutely love writing is Baby. Yes, you read that correctly; one of my favourite characters to write is a car! I have a completely unshakeable image of her personality - basically, I see her as a sassy, sophisticated lady of a certain age. A total cougar (especially for Dean), but with a very strong maternal instinct toward her boys too.
Some time ago, I realised that I'd written a lot of short fics (mainly one-shots and drabbles) focussing on our lovely Lady, and so I decided to gather them all together in a collection which you can find on AO3 entitled 'The Iron Lady'
Digital Art:
I've done masses of digital art; banners, cards, and challenges, but one I did very recently was one that I'm really proud of. It was for my 2017 Reversebang challenge for a wonderful story called 'Favourite Subject' by
jillmariej . In it, Castiel is delightfully obsessed with drawing and painting Dean, and latterly brings his art into the 21st century, by acquiring a tablet.
This is my picture of Cas' work, uploaded to a fictional art social media site. The link to the story is under the picture!
Traditional Art:
One thing I am grateful to the Supernatural fandom for is inspiring me to spread my art horizons, and take up drawing people again. It was something I hadn't done for years, having largely given up after leaving school because I just didn't enjoy it, and I didn't think I was very good at it.
But now, I can't seemto get enough of doing it! Over the last four orfive years, I've drawn over forty Supernatural character portraits. These are all on my Deviant art page, but these are a couple of my favourites:
Steve
Bobby
