I am probably the least superstitious person on earth, I don't care about Friday the 13th, walking under ladders or counting magpies, but there is one thing that I am paranoid about, and that is that I never tempt fate. Ever.

It's silly really, because I don't even really believe in fate, but I still feel profoundly uncomfortable by doing it.

So technically, that's not really a case of bringing good luck; more a case of preventing bad luck - but I hope that answers your question!

I do tend to avoid walking under ladders, but I think it's more a common sense thing, I mean who wants to walk under a ladder and be bonked on the head by a half full paint can or something that the guy using the ladder drops?

I'm the least superstitious person only because I believe but don't care, does that make sense? I tend to go out of my way to walk under ladders, lol!

I know what you mean - it's kind of where I was coming from with my response about things I might be proud of. Pride before a fall and all that! Plus tempting fate is poor risk management.

Me too since I narrowly missed getting splatted with some cement while defying fate walking under a ladder when I was a kid! LOL

It depends on the circumstances, but for instance, I'd never blag a day of work by saying that I had to go to my Uncle's funeral, because it's almost as if you're inviting him to die!
